Frisco IS Sports is your one-stop connection for sports venues, hotels, and so much more. Frisco IS Sports was created in 2013 as a department of the Frisco Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Official Destination Marketing Organization for the City of Frisco. Frisco is known not only for its world class sports venues, but is home to 3 professional sports teams, and was named the "Top Place to Raise an Athlete" byMen's Journal in 2011. Frisco is also home to exciting events such as NCAA Division I Football Championships Series, and has hosted traditional events like soccer and basketball, as well as figure skating, cycling, trampoline and ice hockey!
Frisco IS Sports will focus on bringing small to large scale sporting events to the City of Frisco in collaboration with our local sports leagues, venues and professional teams. Our purpose is to not only provide economic vitality to the City, but to also provide opportunities for local residents and youth to engage in state, regional and national sporting events, either as an athlete, spectator or volunteer. Frisco Sports will also assist in laying groundwork through local connections for hotels, meeting space, venues and more!

As Executive Director, Marla is at the helm of everything that goes on within the Frisco CVB. In addition to all of her years of meetings and tourism industry know-how, she's a knock-your-socks-off cook! Paying attention to the ingredients, tools, and techniques is what she does in the kitchen and very much spills over into what she does at work. Spicy food really gets her going. The spicier the food, the more she's willing to give it a try. Her adventuresome nature is also one of the reasons why she's done such a great job leading and moving the Frisco CVB forward. When she's not at work, she runs, like, 50 miles a week, and when she's not doing that, she loves to read. She could easily be a detective since murder mysteries and espionage are her favorite book topics.
Sports Sales Manager
Chuck Brakes would be hard to miss in a room because at 6'7" he's usually the tallest person in the room! He's also the newest addition to our staff as Sports Sales Manager for Frisco Is Sports. He lives, breathes and speaks sports and if you prod him, he also does a pretty good job at speaking French, too. It's the competitor at heart part that will bring him success with his full court press expanding our existing sports markets for us. He's the head coach at home and loves spending time with his family. If you talk about traveling, music or fast cars, you'll hit a home run with him. Right now we're just trying to find a company car with enough leg room to accommodate him!
