(Frisco, Texas) April 29, 2011 ~ Frisco residents age 16 and older who love to take pictures just for fun submitted more than 100 photos for the 2nd Annual You Be the Tour Guide Photo Contest! The contest was judged by a panel of expert judges who passionately combed through the photographs to select the top three winners. To view a sample of the photos submitted go here.
The contest offered Frisco residents who are amateur photographers an opportunity to illustrate how interesting, attractive and fun Frisco is. The Convention &Visitors Bureau suggested a few ideas that included:
Winners will be announced during the kick off of National Travel &Tourism Week, Saturday, May 7, 2010, 3:00 p.m. at Stonebriar Centre on the lower level outside of Sears. Mayor Maso will do the honors and City Council has been invited to talk about the economic impact of travel & tourism.
A total of $985 in prizes including hotel stays and sports event tickets will be awarded to the top three winners. Stonebriar Centre will also donate $250 to the high school photo journalism department with the most entries.
Marla Roe, Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director, says, "The images we collect have become a valuable way for the CVB to share our history and provide great visuals for what visitors to Frisco can expect to find."
