Texas Legends Inaugural Schedule Announced

Only four months until tip-off Legends fans! The Texas Legends first season schedule has been officially released, and the Legends' first game will be against the D-League's defending champions, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, on November 21. The Legends home opener is scheduled for November 30 against the Austin Toros.
"The countdown has begun," Texas Legends co-owner Donnie Nelson commented. "Only 104 days to tip-off and we couldn't be more excited. Our home opener will be against the San Antonio Spurs affiliate Austin Toros, so the house will surely be packed!"
After facing the Vipers, the Legends will have two more road games before their home opener at Dr Pepper Arena on November 30 against the Austin Toros.
"There's nothing quite like the first ever home opener!" Texas Legends co-owner Evan Wyly said. "Be a part of the exciting start of our legendary rivalry with the Austin Hippies, I mean Toros!"
The Legends first home-stand in team history is three games long, following the Toros match-up with back-to-back games on December 3 and 4 against the Vipers and the Tulsa 66ers, respectively.
Those three foes fill nearly half the Legends' schedule, as the Mavs' NBA rivalries carry into the D-League as well. The Legends, the sole affiliate of the Mavs, face the Vipers, the affiliate to the Houston Rockets, six times and the Toros, the San Antonio Spurs affiliate, eight times. Another Western Conference rivalry of the Maverick's will take precedence in the Legends' schedule as they face the Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate, the 66ers, eight times throughout the season.
The Legends will also combine with the most legendary of American events - Super Bowl Sunday - when they take on the Erie BayHawks that afternoon before Cowboys Stadium hosts the 2011 Super Bowl.
Other highlights in the inaugural schedule include a New Year's Day home game against the Tulsa 66ers and a season finale on April 2 on the road against the Toros.
The 50-game schedule also includes a weekend matchup in Frisco against the Toros on March 11 and 12.
