STEEL SCULPTURE BY WORLD-RENOWNED SCULPTOR JOHN HENRY ADDED TO HALL OFFICE PARK

FRISCO, TEXAS – NOV. 5, 2007 – An 85-ft. tall steel sculpture by internationally known sculptor, John Henry, has been added to The Hall Collection at Hall Office Park in Frisco, Texas.

Jaguar, a bright red, steel sculpture, is located at the eastern edge of Hall Office Park on southbound Dallas Parkway between Warren Parkway and Gaylord Parkway. Purchased by Hall Financial Group Chairman and Founder Craig Hall, the sculpture is the second tallest sculpture in the Metroplex and boasts a 26-foot diameter.  Jaguar is the second in height only to Walking to the Sky by Jonathon Borofsky, which is located at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas.

Jaguar is the tallest piece in The Hall Collection, a designation previously held by the 35-foot tall Dancers MM by Texas artist Jerry Daniel.  Dancers MM was constructed of cement over welded steel and commissioned in 2000 for the park’s Gaylord Parkway entrance.

In preparation for Jaguar’s arrival, a special concrete base was constructed capable of supporting the nearly 50,000-pound sculpture. The art was disassembled in Vancouver, where it had been on display at the Vancouver Biennial for the past two years, and transported to Frisco on two 40-foot flatbed trucks. Henry and his Chattanooga, Tenn.-based team of sculptors traveled to Frisco for the four-day installation, which was overseen by the Hall art curator Patricia B. Meadows. Once in position, Jaguar was given a fresh coat of gleaming red paint.

“We are pleased to have John Henry’s work in such a prominent location at Hall Office Park,” said Hall “This is a very important piece by an internationally recognized artist”

In addition to the arrival of Jaguar this summer, Stairway to Heaven was also installed on the Hall Office Park campus. Stairway to Heaven, a 29-ft. steel sculpture by James Surls, had been on loan from The Hall Collection to Southern Methodist University since 2003.

A lifelong art collector, Craig Hall believes art nourishes the human spirit and can make a profound difference in people’s lives. Throughout his businesses, Hall displays portions of his extensive, personal contemporary art collection for the public’s enjoyment.
