THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH AREA NAMED AS ONE OF THE TOP TEN PLACES IN US FOR VALUE VACATIONS

In a release Monday by Hotwire®, the Dallas/Fort Worth Area was named one of its top ten U.S. places for providing value vacations according the Hotwire® Travel Value Index. For thirty years, the Dallas/Fort Worth Area Tourism Council (DFWATC) has been promoting tourism to the region.

It is no wonder that in addition to being one of the top value destinations, the Dallas/Fort Worth area is also the number one leisure destination in Texas. Some of the Dallas/Fort Worth areas’ main strengths – world-class shopping and museums, a variety of outdoor adventures and opportunities, festivals and fairs, major-league sports, activities of interest for all ages, and proximity and easy access – are important to travelers when deciding where to vacation.

The Dallas/Fort Worth region offers this and more. The Council’s website offers visitors 12 free, prepackaged “tour” ideas to suit various vacation goals and interests as well as a wealth of other information on the area. The site is available at www.visitdallas-fortworth.com.

According to Marla Roe, Director of the Frisco Convention and Visitors Bureau, “More than ever before, cooperatively promoting the variety of tourism attractions the region has to offer, creates excitement and keeps the Dallas/Fort Worth area top of mind. The area is rich and diverse and offers visitors new experiences with each visit.”

In addition to the website, the Council offers a free visitors’ guide that can be mailed to vacationers or is available in an on-line version. For more information, please contact the Dallas/Fort Worth Area Tourism Council office at 817-329-2438 or visit www.visitdallas-fortworth.com.
