Resort Earns Westin’s North America Hotel of the Year
Award for Second Straight Year
FRISCO, TX (February XX, 2008) . . . The Westin Stonebriar Resort will need to make room in its trophy case for another award.
For the second consecutive year, The Westin Stonebriar Resort has been named Westin’s North America Hotel of the Year among the brand’s 155 properties in the region, the first time a Westin property has earned the coveted award in back-to-back years.
The resort also was a 2004 winner, marking the third time the property has won Westin’s North America Hotel of the Year Award since the property opened in 2000. The award is based on guest satisfaction scores as well as the property’s adherence to Westin’s brand standards.
“Our attention to detail starts with each of our associates,” notes Craig Sundell, general manager of The Westin Stonebriar Resort, which is locally owned by Ernie Blank and Peter Streit. “Their passion for outstanding service creates an atmosphere of success.”
The Westin Stonebriar is a five-time winner of AAA’s four-diamond award and a two-time worldwide guest satisfaction leader among Westin hotels worldwide. The property also is a two-time recipient of Successful Meetings Magazine’s Pinnacle Award as selected by corporate and association executives with meeting planning responsibilities.
“To be the first to win Westin’s North America Hotel of the Year Award in back-to-back years is quite an accomplishment,” Sundell adds.
The Westin Stonebriar Resort is nestled on 322 acres just north of Dallas, adjacent to distinctive shopping, dining and spa services at Stonebriar Commons. The resort features 301 luxurious guestrooms and suites, a Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course and a lagoon-style pool. Other amenities include a golf pro shop, Legacy Grill restaurant, Ernie’s Bar, 24-room service, the AquaBar & Grill, 24,000 square feet of event and catering space, a health club and in-room spa services.
