Frisco Tourism Public Improvement District

The Frisco Tourism Public Improvement District (TPID) is designed to increase the funding available to market and provide incentives to enhance Frisco’s performance as a meetings and conventions, sports, and tourism destination.

Frisco TPID Background

In 2021, a group of Frisco hotel general managers agreed to resurrect pursuing a TPID after pausing efforts during the pandemic. Petitions were issued in June and July 2021, with more than 80% threshold met for all three categories: number of hotels, appraised value, and surface area of the hotels.

After signatures were verified, two public hearings were held, a corporation was formed, and the first Board of Directors was elected. As a governing board, members will direct the approved uses of TPID funding.

The boundary of the district is all hotels within the City of Frisco that have 75 rooms or more. The TPID assessment is 2% on all occupied rooms. The funds are restricted to use for the following:

  • Convention and Sports Sales
  • Marketing
  • Research and Administrative Fees
