Plans For Hyatt Regency Hotel In Frisco, Texas

Hotel at Stonebriar Centre to Include Conference Center, City Library

(Frisco, Texas) April 26, 2016 ~ A Hyatt Regency Hotel is in the works to come to Frisco’s Stonebriar Centre mall. Earlier this month, Frisco City Council approved an agreement to purchase the hotel’s conference center for $10.5 million.

The Hyatt is planned to have 15 stories and a minimum of 295 rooms. It is planned to be built between Nordstrom and Dillard’s and attach to the mall on the ground floor. The hotel will also feature a parking garage with at least 800 parking spaces. The hotel’s conference center is expected to be at least 50,000 square feet and include a grand ballroom, a junior ballroom and additional breakout spaces.

A unique addition to the Hyatt also includes plans for a 3,000-square-foot space which the city plans to lease for the development of a city library. The library will be available for use by visitors and city residents.

The hotel is being developed by the Dallas-based Sam Moon Group (SMG), which owns the Sam Moon Trading Co. and has recently branched into the hotel business. SMG has formed Moon Stonebriar Hotel Ltd. to acquire a portion of land from General Growth Properties for the hotel project.

The proposal calls for the hotel to be done no later than December 2019. Frisco has 13 hotels now and four more under construction. Several others are in the planning stages.
