Where to Bike in Frisco

Luckily in Frisco, there are plenty of places for bike riders of all ages to get out and explore. Since many of Frisco’s biking trails are less than two miles long, you can take nice, short, relaxing rides. Here’s a roundup of a few amazing places to ride!

Ironhorse Trail

Ironhorse Trail offers beauty and nature. Located at the south terminus of Teel Parkway, this 1.2-mile decomposed granite trail winds along restored Blackland Prairie, two ponds, and a native plant habitat. From the trail, you can spot habitat boxes for wood ducks and mergansers. It's particularly beautiful in the springtime when wildflowers bloom on both sides of the trail.

Taychas Trail

Located along West Rowlett Creek, Taychas Trail is a 2.2-mile trail that serves as an excellent city connector trail. It features a series of trails running north from Limestone Quarry Park past Rolater Road to Independence Parkway into Harold Bacchus Community Park, then north to Main Street. Enjoy the new signage along the trail, giving info on its history, local wildlife, and foliage.

Caddo Trail

Caddo Trail at Stewart Creek is a beauty. The paved trail is only 1.1 miles, but there are a lot of trees for shade, it’s lined with gorgeous homes, public art, and you can walk down to the creek. 

Frisco Mountain Bike Trail

The Frisco Mountain Bike Trail at Northwest Community Park is a single-track trail with three loops varying in difficulty, totaling 5.6 miles. There are some jumps, tree gates and there is just a little bit of climbing. A mountain bike is the preferred equipment, but the trail is flexible and accommodating. Make sure to keep an eye out for hikers and dogs as they are also allowed on this trail. This is a Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association trail, so helmets are required if you’re riding a bike.

Cottonwood Creek Greenbelt

This trail for walkers, runners and bicyclists is 1.2 miles long and features Cottonwood Branch Creek. The trailhead is beautiful and there are some neat features, like a historic bridge from 1904! There are also platforms for fishing and picnic tables under a pavilion. The Greenbelt even won a Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) award in 2018 for the best park design in the state in its population category!

Beaver’s Bend Trail

Located within the 26-acre Beaver’s Bend Park, Beaver’s Bend Trail is a paved path that stretches 1.2 miles and features a quiet, peaceful creek and hundreds of sunflowers. There are also two playgrounds and picnic tables under a pavilion. There’s even a repair station with tools and a QR code you can scan on your phone for guidance on how to use the tools and get you rolling again.
