Hooray for cooler weather! It’s finally that time of year where running outside is enjoyable and you don't risk melting down in the sun. So now what? It's time to lace up your running shoes and join in on one or some of the upcoming Frisco fun runs, walks, and 5k’s. Here is a list of Frisco runs and walks coming up:

November 8-16, 2014; Anytime: Saluting Our Veterans, Virtual Run, Anywhere

  • We can never thank our armed forces enough for the work that they do to protect our country. This virtual run is an opportunity to show our honor and appreciation for our veterans and the service they provide. This is a virtual race, so run/walk/crawl where ever you are whenever you can. You can even complete this race on the treadmill. Every runner will receive a 4″ Saluting Our Veterans medal!

November 22, 2014; 8:30 AM: St. Jude Give Thanks. Walk., at Frisco Square, Frisco TX

  • Join St. Jude supporters in the Frisco community and in more than 65 cities nationwide in the St. Jude Give thanks. Walk. to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In a single day we will come together to help St. Jude change the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer. Registration for this family-friendly event is free.

November 27, 2014; 8:00am: North Texas Turkey Trot at Frisco Square/FC Dallas Stadium, Frisco TX

  • This is the fourth year for the popular and growing family event on Thanksgiving Day in Frisco. The event offers a 10K trot, a 5K trot and a Miracle Mile for kids. Join thousands of participants who celebrate the holiday with grandparents, relatives, friends and their children. Benefitting The Miracle League of Frisco, a charitable organization that is designed to provide an opportunity for children to enjoy team sports in a fun, safe and rewarding environment.

December 13, 2014; 8:00am: Frosty 5K & Merry Mile at Simpson Plaza at City Hall, Frisco TX

  • Celebrate the holiday season in Frisco with this 5K and merry mile! A portion of the proceeds from the race will be donated to S.O.A.R. (Scholarship Opportunities for Activities and Recreation) Charitable Fund. This scholarship program allows qualified Frisco residents to participate in recreation programs and special events.
