Saturday, May 10 is National Train Day, and Frisco has just the place for you to celebrate the occasion: the Museum of the American Railroad! Guests are invited to get a sneak peek at select areas of the museum’s new site in Frisco ahead of its official grand opening. The festivities kick off at 10am with a tour of the museum’s indoor exhibits housed at the Frisco Heritage Museum, followed by an outdoor guided tour of select pieces of the museum’s permanent collection at its official site located behind Frisco Discovery Center.The tour will allow visitors to get up close with historic rail cars from the Golden Age of rail travel.

Know before you go: Admission to the event is $5 for adults and $2.50 for kids ages three – 12. Admission can be purchased at the Heritage Museum on the day of the event. Tours of the indoor exhibits at the Heritage museum will start every hour from 10am – 3pm, and guided outdoor tours will begin every half-hour from 10:30am – 3:30pm. Visitors are responsible for providing their own transportation between the Heritage Museum and the Museum of the American Railroad site behind Frisco Discovery Center.
