July 4th will be here in the blink of an eye, and you know what that means: it’s time to party like a patriot at Frisco Freedom Fest!
Those of you who want to kick off the festivities early can get things started at the second annual Hotter ‘n Firecrackers 5K Glow Run on Friday, July 3. Participants will light up the night at the after-dark run, wearing glow necklaces and flashing LED lights as they run to the beat of electronic music. Be sure to arrive early for the pre-run Dachshund Races.
And then the main event kicks off at 4pm on the 4th! Head to Frisco Square for:
Party in the Plaza: Family fun is on tap with a Community Stage featuring local entertainment plus headlining acts; a Children’s Expo serving up bounce houses, face painting, games and so much more; a Hometown Heroes exhibit showcasing Frisco’s finest from the police and fire departments; and Taste of Frisco, where the city’s top restaurants will be serving up their most popular menu items.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a 4th of July celebration without fireworks! Sparks will begin to fly at approximately 10pm from Toyota Stadium, where FC Dallas will have just finished up a match against New England. The 20-minute fireworks extravaganza is one of the largest in North Texas. Everyone is invited to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the show.
It’s sure to be a star-spangled day, so break out your red, white and blue for this once-a-year celebration!
