The #RoadToFrisco, which began August 27, 2016, will end January 7, 2017 at Toyota Stadium when the James Madison University Dukes and the Youngstown State University Penguins face off in the NCAA Division I Football Championship

How They Got Here: James Madison got a 27-17 semifinal win over the five-time defending National Champions, the North Dakota State Bison, at the Division I Football Championship Subdivision playoffs before a stunned crowd of more than 18,000 at the Fargodome. Youngstown State University
Location: Youngstown, OH (1,213 miles from Frisco)
Mascot: Penguins
How They Got Here: Youngstown State beat Eastern Washington in a national semifinal in the FCS playoffs, 40-38, winning the game with one of the most exciting plays in recent college football history. With just seconds left in the game, Youngstown State tight end, Kevin Rader, somehow managed to squeeze a game-deciding touchdown pass by trapping the ball on the back of an EWU linebacker in the endzone. JMU won the championship previously in 2004. YSU won in 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1997. This is the first time for either team to compete in the championship game in Frisco, so it's sure to be an exciting one!
