The holidays are fast approaching and the time to celebrate the season is almost here. From light shows and tree lightings to shopping deals and Santa Claus, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the holiday spirit in Frisco.

Christmas in the Square

Taking place November 18 through January 8, Christmas in the Square is one of the largest choreographed lights and music displays in North Texas. The nightly show begins at 6 p.m. and features more than 175,000 lights, 11.5 miles of wiring and over eight miles of extension cords. Visitors may tune in to 107.3 FM on the radio in their vehicles or listen to the music piped through speakers as they take a walk through the Square. This year's Christmas in the Square event will also feature Skate the Square, an outdoor ice-skating rink, as well as a Christmas tree lot. The light and music show is free to experience. Some activities do require a fee.

Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza

The Dallas Cowboys will host Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza powered by Reliant, November 17 through December 16, each Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. on Tostitos Championship Plaza. The must-see 20-minute show kicks off with the lighting of The Star's 67-foot Christmas tree and holiday performances featuring the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Dancers and Drumline, Cowboys Rookie Squad, mascot Rowdy, and Santa Claus. Special appearances will include a magical lineup of 65 gameday performers.  Admission and parking for the event are free.
