It may be August, but the Texas heat is still out in full force. Don’t worry because The Star in Frisco has you covered with plenty of activities to “Beat the Heat”.

Pampering

If the heat has you down, it may be time to recharge. Visit Hiatus Spa+ Retreat for some relaxation time. The spa offers services for massages, skincare, nails, and other amazing experiences. For the men and boys, check out The Gents Place. Since school is starting again, I decided to book a haircut for my son. When we arrived, they offered us complimentary drinks and my little boy had to try the orange juice. We had a great experience and would visit again. When booking pampering services be sure to do so in advance because I noticed spots filled up quickly.

Omni Frisco Hotel Pool

Book an overnight stay or snag a day pass for a dip in the Omni Frisco Hotel pool. Not only will you get to enjoy a refreshing swim, but also get a top-notch view of all the action happening down on Tostitos Championship Plaza, the Cowboys 50-yard replica turf field. I recommend going at least once during the late afternoon to enjoy the sunset from the rooftop. You also must try the food and drinks from The Edge Bar located right next to the pool. The current menu theme is, “Summer of Water + Color”. Everything is bright, beautiful, and tastes delicious. We tried the melon salad and really enjoyed it. Make sure to go with an empty stomach because the food portions are generous. Everything you need for a perfect pool day is right there, including towel service, cabanas, bathrooms, and showers. Plan on staying at least a few hours or even all day.

The Star Tours

Stay cool while doing an indoor tour of the Dallas Cowboys training facility. The Star Tour takes you through the day in the life of a Dallas Cowboy. We had a great experience while on our tour and got to learn so much history, stats, and stories regarding the team and its success. I love how tours are kept small to keep it feeling intimate and personalized. The highlight was getting to see the War Room, where the Dallas Cowboys NFL draft takes place. There's so much design and technology in one room. I really enjoyed how nothing felt rushed, and there was plenty of time to ask questions and take pictures.

Flea Style Hat Bar

Have you ever designed your own hat? Well, now you can at the Hat Bar in Flea Style. Guests start by selecting a hat from a large selection and then move on to accessories. I was amazed by all the unique options. They have feathers, dried florals, scarves, charms, and so much more. They even have hats for little ones, so I had to get one for my daughter. If it seems overwhelming, don’t worry because they have a stylist to help you navigate the process. Such a fun idea to do individually or as a group for birthdays, bridal showers, or even a girls' night out.

Brunch at Tupelo Honey

The food options are endless when visiting The Star, but one of my personal favorites is Tupelo Honey. I’m especially fond of the brunch menu and recently tried the Mac-N-Cheese Waffles with Asheville Hot Fried Chicken. Now I’ll admit that I was hesitant to try it, but Mac-N-Cheese does taste good on waffles. I also tried the Kiss of Lavender Lemonade which was a great idea for a triple digit day. If you aren’t in the mood to be adventurous, they also offer tons of classic food options that are sure to satisfy.
