Winter Art Show & Boreal: An Indoor Forest

Inside Frisco Discovery Center, visit the Community Gallery for the Winter Art Show. It returns for its seventh year at the Frisco Discovery Center! This art exhibition celebrates the season through artwork that represents or suggests anything related to winter, such as snowflakes, holidays, wintry woodlands and creatures, winter-time activities and sports, frozen landscapes, snow-capped mountains, and more.

In The Grand Gallery, visit Boreal: An Indoor Forest. Step into an immersive indoor landscape inspired by the Boreal Forest: the vast green belt that circles the northern hemisphere. Known in some regions as the taiga, this ecosystem is home to birch, spruce, pine, and fir trees, and countless species of birds, mammals, mosses, and lichens. This installation focuses on the birch groves, their white bark gleaming against the winter light. Accompanied by soundscapes of wind and bird calls, the experience invites visitors to slow down, reflect, and connect. By bringing the boreal forest into Texas, we hope to spark both wonder and awareness of these essential, threatened places.
