Frisco Artists, Help Design the Newest Frisco Heart

Contest Theme: Art & Discovery

This heart will be installed at the Frisco Discovery Center, adjacent to the Frisco Public Library. The theme of this heart design is art and discovery, so the design should reflect Frisco's artistic personality or the innovation and inspiration you can find within the Discovery Center through art, science, history, and imagination! 

The size of the heart is 5 feet wide x 90 inches high, with a heart-shaped center cutout.

Design Setup and Orientation

• Please refer to the PDF template for detailed die line specifications.
• Keep all artwork within the die line.
• Please keep in mind artwork is front and back. 
• Files should be in CMYK mode only, not RGB.
• For Pantone or spot colors, convert all spot colors to CMYK prior to sending final files.
• Expand all fonts and text to shapes (vectors). Avoid any live text in the document.
• Flatten all transparencies.

The winning submission will ultimately be turned into a design on our heart template to prepare for production. See example below and download the Illustrator template here. 

Contest Rules

The Frisco Heart Project is a creative contest highlighting the beloved iHeartFrisco heart installations that dot the city, from City Hall to The Rail District, and beyond. Visit Frisco is inviting Frisco area artists to let their creativity shine by submitting their own designs for a brand new heart installation. 

How to submit: Use the form on the Visit Frisco contest page to submit your design entry. Fill in the required fields, give us a brief description of your design, and attach your design as a .jpg or .pdf file.

Contest End Date: The contest will close on 5 p.m. central time Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Submissions sent after that time may not be considered.

Judging

The judging panel for the Heart Project contest will be made up of representatives from Frisco Arts, Play Frisco, and the community. Judges will score designs based on originality, alignment with the Arts & Discovery theme, visual impact, and connection to Frisco.
