This sculpture was gifted to the City of Frisco by David and Shirley Griffin in honor of John Milton Turner. Mr. Turner was born in Frisco in 1935. He lost his eyesight at 17 but lived his life with the motto “blindness is an inconvenience, not a handicap.” Turner was appointed by 6 governors to the Texas Commission for the Blind over the course of more than 30 years.
