Statewide Parental Involvement Conference to take place in Frisco, Texas, December 6-8
“Parental Involvement: One Team, One Dream”
(Frisco, Texas) October 11, 2018 ~ Statewide educators, parents, and interested community agencies and individuals are invited to attend the 2018 Statewide Parental Involvement Conference, “One Team, One Dream,” December 6-8, 2018 at the Frisco Embassy Suites and Convention Center.
Hosted by Frisco ISD and Region 10 Education Service Center, and sponsored by the Title I, Part A Parent and Family Engagement Statewide Initiative at Region 16 Education Service Center, and other ISDs in the Region 10 area, the conference will provide opportunities for educators, parents, and community leaders to learn strategies for empowering all stakeholders to increase student achievement and to meet the required mandates of the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Educators, Parents, and Community members are encouraged to attend this exciting event where attendees will be challenged to work together for the achievement of ALL students.
The conference is proud to showcase nationally known speakers, and breakout sessions by top parental involvement practitioners from around the state. Featured sessions include Anita Villarreal, TEA; Tammy Pearcy, TEA; and Joe McKenna, Texas Safety Center. Keynotes feature Chad Sapenter, You Can Do It, Mateo Magdaleno, Educate, Empower, and Engage; and LaDonna Gatlin, Tune Up Your Life will motivate and inspire participants to create a better tomorrow for the children of Texas.
The conference features a pre-conference with Young-Chan Han, Survivors to Leaders. This session will cover strategies to help schools effectively work with parent and families from diverse backgrounds. Participants will learn sensible methods for engaging ALL parents and how to put family engagement practices in places appropriate to families’ needs. There are numerous exhibitors and booths with representatives from national and community parental involvement programs.
