Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy & Research at The Star is fast becoming a nationally recognized model for the holistic treatment of the physically active.

The 300,000-square-foot campus, scheduled for completion in early 2018, will focus on injury prevention, research and wellness for athletes at every level. The new facility is a first-of-its-kind collaboration by an NFL team, a health system and a school district.

The Dallas Cowboys and the Frisco Independent School District joined hands with Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health care system in Texas, to create a game-changing sports medicine, research and performance facility at The Star in Frisco, the new home of the Cowboys’ World Headquarters.

“With a focus on preventing injuries and keeping people healthy, the goal of Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy & Research at The Star is to make North Texas the safest place in the country to play sports,” said Joel Allison, president and CEO, Baylor Scott & White Health.

Services offered will include diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation. The campus at The Star in Frisco will include an ambulatory surgery center, diagnostic imaging, a sports performance program, an urgent care center, outpatient rehabilitation and a pharmacy.

The sports performance program offers the pioneering technology Fusionetics, a platform built to optimize athletic performance, reduce injuries and speed recovery. The program includes a training field and a basketball court.

The facility will also offer a concussion assessment and management program, in partnership with the General Electric-NFL Head Health Initiative and will have a concussion specialist on the sidelines of every Frisco high school football game played at The Star. Licensed athletic trainers will also provide event and game coverage.

Baylor Scott & White will incorporate sports research, including concussion and injury prevention, into every program. The research will also concentrate on athlete recovery, hydration, sleep, nutrition, regeneration and sports performance.
