Meet the mastermind behind Kenny’s Burger Joint, the beloved eatery that has captured the hearts and appetites of Frisco's residents. Get ready to dive into the story of culinary innovation and passion that defines this local gem, as the owner shares personal anecdotes, the restaurant's humble beginnings, and the secrets to its mouthwatering success.

When did you first get to Frisco?

I moved to Frisco about 4-1/2 years ago. Wow, does time fly! However, I’ve been involved in Frisco for years. Kenny’s Burger Joint is going on 16 years!

What is the history of Kenny’s Burgers? What can someone expect at Kenny’s Burgers in Frisco?

The history of Kenny’s Burger Joint actually came from our original restaurant, Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill.  People would always comment on how great they thought our hickory-grilled burgers were and that we should open a burger place. It just so happens that a great location opened up in Frisco.

All of our burgers at Kenny’s Burger Joint are unique because we cook on an all-natural wood-burning grill, no gas at all - just hickory wood.  We also keep everything very straight forward in terms of food and drink. We really don’t do anything too frou frou.  We also bend over backwards to make people happy from a hospitality perspective. “Yes is the answer, what’s the question” is our motto!

What’s the most popular menu item and what’s YOUR favorite menu item?

The most popular item (which is also my favorite) is the Bacon Cheeseburger and regular French fries (we have a few flavors). I am all about simplicity done well!

Tell me about your passion for art and what you’ve been painting lately.

I have always been into art by collecting it, going to galleries and museums but never making it. I wanted to expand my creative passion and one of my mentors suggested I try painting. The rest is history! I’ve heard people say, “Art making is the process of becoming yourself”.

Most of my art is about what I am feeling or going through at the time - the ups the downs, the wins, and the failures. Lately, I have been painting a lot of butterflies. They symbolize beauty obviously, but also the struggle that the butterfly had to go through emerging from a caterpillar.
