The holiday season brings cooler temps, family outings, and memories that turn into traditions. How does Frisco celebrate the holidays? Sports City USA style, of course. Here’s your quick guide to bowl-game action, ‘star-studded’ tours and attractions, ice skating, shopping, and more to sprinkle your holidays with a dash of sports this year.

Experience the Old and the New

Fans of all ages will love visiting the National Soccer Hall of Fame. One of Frisco’s most popular sports stops showcases old relics of soccer while also incorporating state-of-the-art interactive stations that put you in the crowd, in the goal, and in the game! Tickets to the NSHOF range from $12-$15 and are available at nationalsoccerhof.com.

Nothing shines quite like The Star. Take a guided tour of the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters to see the facilities where America’s team trains and works 355 days a year. Tours of The Star make a great gift, with tour packages ranging from $40-$80. Learn more at thestarinfrisco.com/tours.

After your guided tour of The Star in Frisco, stick around for the Cowboys Christmas Spectacular. This show on Tostito’s Championship Plaza features the world-famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and surprise guests, including a jolly sighting for the little ones. The show takes place Friday and Saturday nights from mid-November to mid-December. Hurry - the last show of 2023 is Saturday, December 16!

New golf fans and players can find their play at PGA Frisco. The Texas-sized putting course and 10-hole par 3 course are convenient options for beginners to rent a club or putter from the starter shack on-site and have some fun surrounded by holiday cheer and beautiful decorations.

Skate the Day Away

Frisco has year-round ice skating at Comerica Center, but during the holidays you can stop in for a fun, winter-themed skate for all skill levels. Check public skate times at comericacenter.com and grab a friend to enjoy the ice.

If outdoor ice skating is your cup of tea (or hot chocolate!) head to Frisco Square to Skate the Square. Skating is open November 18, 2023-January 8, 2024.

Shopping is a Sport, too

Frisco won’t let you down when it comes to finding FANtastic gifts for the sports lover in your life. From jerseys, hats, apparel, and more at the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop at The Star to finding that perfectly curated item at Charlotte Jones Collection make sure you put The Star on your shopping route.

Soccer 90 and Soccer City have you covered with all things local and international soccer. Get your Frisco RoughRiders baseball merch at their team store located at Riders Field, Riders Outpost. The Dallas Stars have the perfect hockey fan shop in Frisco - The Hangar.

For more sports gear, outerwear, apparel, accessories, and unique gifts for sports fans check out Rally House, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Champs Sports, Academy Sports + Outdoors, and local favorite Tumbleweed TexStyles.

Games, Games, Games

Make memories with post-season football in Frisco in December 2023 and into February 2024. Frisco hosts all-American high school football players at the U.S. Army Bowl, top-tier college action at the Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl and East-West Shrine Bowl, and classic raise-the-trophy college football at the FCS Championship game.

You can celebrate sports in Frisco beyond the holidays when you give the gift of single-game, multi-game packs, or season tickets to one of Frisco’s local teams. The Texas Legends (the NBA G-League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks) basketball season is in progress and runs through the spring for fun, family game experience.

If baseball is your speed, there’s top-notch college and minor league talent in Frisco. The Frisco College Baseball Classic comes to town March 1-3, 2024, and the Frisco RoughRiders (AA affiliate of the Texas Rangers) season steps up to the plate in April.

Whether you give the gift of tickets to your co-worker or client to enjoy or you make plans to experience the National Soccer Hall of Fame, The Star in Frisco, or hitting the ice with family and friends, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the holiday season in Sports City USA.
