Delicious and Diet Friendly: Health-Conscious Bakeries

It's not always easy to balance your health goals with a touch of indulgence. I’m currently doing the 75 Hard Challenge, so I’ve been craving sweet treats that are Paleo diet approved.

Luckily, Frisco has some stellar spots where you can have your cake and eat it too—literally. From Paleo cupcakes to vegan cinnamon rolls, these bakeries make sticking to your resolutions as easy as pie (healthy pie, of course).

Unrefined Bakery

Let’s start with my first visit to Unrefined Bakery—I can’t believe it took me so long to check it out! They specialize in options that cater to almost every dietary need: gluten-free, Paleo, vegan, Keto, dairy-free, and non-GMO.

I’m already obsessed with their Paleo bread (hello, avocado toast). I grabbed all the things: a berry smoothie, Paleo chocolate, vanilla and strawberry cupcakes, and brought home some frozen Paleo rolls and Paleo lemon cranberry muffins. Just pop a muffin in the microwave, and you’ll have a warm, cozy delicacy minus the guilt. They have a full nutrition breakdown here, so you know exactly what you’re biting into.

Cinnaholic

Next up is Cinnaholic, where you’ll find gourmet cinnamon rolls that are 100% plant-based, dairy-free, egg-free, and cholesterol-free. If that wasn’t cool enough, they’ve been featured on Shark Tank. Don’t overlook the Frisco Cowboy Roll—a decadent creation topped with peanut butter frosting, peanut butter cups, Oreos, chocolate chips, and caramel sauce. You can also BYOR (build your own roll)!

Sweet Gilly’s Specialty Bake Shop

Two words for the interior: absolutely. gorgeous. Opened in October, Sweet Gilly’s is allergen-friendly and always free from dairy and eggs, with options for gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free items. The pink-and-gold décor, inspired by a French fairytale, is like walking into a sweet daydream.

I couldn’t resist a cinnamon roll and a maple chai cookie, both of which I’m still dreaming of. Owner 25-year-old Gillian Kirk (known as Gilly), started her sweet venture from her home kitchen, combining her love for pastries and fine art to create stunning, allergen-friendly desserts and savory offerings—after being diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions at 18. Driven by passion, Gilly ensures everyone can enjoy custom, sumptuous bites, regardless of dietary restrictions. Psst… the shop’s front doors are graced with a stunning flower arch for all your gram-worthy content.
