Great Spots in Frisco to Get Ice Cream
Share:
Growing up, I always loved going out for ice cream. Who doesn’t? My dad often took me to get some on some of the coldest days in the winter, claiming that “ice cream tastes better in the cold.” Now, as an adult, I have the freedom to get a sweet treat in the summer like a normal person (though I still do get ice cream in the winter).
As the weather’s getting warmer now that the Texas summer’s coming around, it’s definitely ice cream season! And it’s safe to say that Frisco has some of the best options for young and old alike. Here are some of my family’s favorites:
Margaret’s Cones & Cups
For a perfect post-golf treat or simply an afternoon pick-me-up, head to Margaret's Cones & Cups in the PGA District of Frisco. This charming spot is the ideal destination to satisfy your sweet tooth with their gourmet ice cream and specialty coffee offerings. After a sunny day on the links or exploring the PGA campus, nothing beats cooling down with one of their artisanal ice cream flavors. The quaint shop provides a welcoming atmosphere where you can indulge in not just ice cream but an assortment of sweet treats that will delight your taste buds.
They're conveniently open seven days a week, making it easy to drop by whether you're finishing a weekend round of golf or just looking for a midweek dessert adventure. Their location in the PGA District makes Margaret's a must-visit destination for both locals and visitors exploring Frisco's newest attractions.

LottieBirds
Located in Frisco's charming Rail District, LottieBirds is a cozy, welcoming space where friends and families can gather to enjoy delicious treats.
Chef Scott Hoffner, a Texas native, named this passion project after his daughters – Charlotte (Lottie) and Bird – and his love for family shines through in the warm atmosphere. When you walk into LottieBirds, you're greeted with a menu that goes beyond just ice cream. They serve Henry's ice cream, which the chef has loved since growing up in Plano, alongside sweet and savory crepes that are simply divine.
As Chef Hoffner says, crepes are "the greatest vessel – you can put anything in them," and he certainly proves that with options ranging from lemon chicken with asparagus to Norwegian smoked salmon crepes. Beyond ice cream and crepes, you'll find bagels, pastries, specialty coffees, frozen lemonades, and more – truly something for everyone.
The combination of fresh-scooped ice cream and freshly made pastries creates an irresistible aroma that makes this spot a standout in Frisco's evolving Rail District.

SomiSomi
When you step into SomiSomi on Warren Parkway, you're in for a unique dessert experience that combines Korean soft serve traditions with Instagram-worthy presentation.
SomiSomi is famous for its signature "Ah-Boong" – a fish-shaped waffle cone filled with your choice of delicious filling and topped with creamy soft serve ice cream. The experience begins by choosing your fish-shaped waffle (called taiyaki) filling – options include custard, red bean, Nutella, matcha custard, or black sesame. Then, select your soft serve flavor with exciting options like Ube (purple yam), Matcha, Black Sesame, or various swirl combinations that change weekly.
What makes SomiSomi special is not just the delicious taste but the entire experience – watching your fish-shaped waffle being made and then topped with colorful soft serve and a variety of toppings from fruity pebbles to Oreo crumbs. The soft serve has a light, milky consistency that isn't too sweet, making it the perfect canvas for the various toppings.
While there's no seating inside the small shop, most customers don't mind – they're too busy taking photos of their beautiful creations before enjoying every bite.

BigDash Ice Cream & Pastries
For a taste of something completely different, BigDash Ice Cream & Pastries on Preston Road offers Middle Eastern dessert traditions with a modern twist.
This unique shop is known for its stretchy Arabic ice cream that provides a texture experience unlike anything else in Frisco. Among their most talked-about offerings is the viral "Dubai chocolate" strawberry cup, which delivers an extraordinary flavor combination that keeps customers coming back.
BigDash doesn't stop at ice cream – their display cases are filled with authentic Middle Eastern pastries including baklava layered with pistachios, kinafa (a traditional cheese pastry), warbat (flaky pastry with cream), and more.
With 16 different ice cream flavors to choose from, including refreshing options like Lemon Mint Sorbet, you can visit multiple times and have a completely different experience each time. The staff is known for excellent service, always ready to explain the various unfamiliar treats to newcomers and help you find your new favorite dessert.
Cow Tipping Creamery
Cow Tipping Creamery is on a mission to revolutionize soft serve with their famous “Stackers”. Picture this, soft-serve ice cream layered between delicious exotic toppings. Its kind of like a parfait, but Stackers are far more life-changing. The best part, all of their toppings are made in-house. Sure, they have your average sprinkles but if youre feeling a little crazy dont hesitate to ask for those funfetti cake chunks. Trust me, they're delicious. Afterward, don't forget to burn off some calories by exploring the rest of The Star and enjoying the Dallas Cowboys-themed campus.

So, there you have it, folks. Some of the most unique ice cream destinations in Frisco. From golf course treats to Korean fish-shaped cones, crepes with ice cream to Middle Eastern stretchy desserts – Frisco truly has something for every ice cream lover.
