Shaken and Straight Up Spectacular: Frisco’s Wine & Spirits Scene
Share:
As more travelers seek authentic and educational experiences focused on wine and spirits, Frisco’s sommeliers and mixologists are rising to the occasion. From special events to cocktail classes and everything in between, visitors can take a deeper look at the people and culture that make wine and spirits much more than just a drink.
Step back in time
Not to be deterred during Prohibition, innovative business owners kept the liquor flowing at speakeasies, secret or clandestine bars that could be accessed through hidden doors provided you knew the password. At Rare Books Bar, you can revisit the charm and mystique of these under-the-radar watering holes…if you know the password. (Tip: Check the bar’s website or social accounts). Once you’re in, you can choose from a sophisticated menu of cocktails and whiskey as well as beer and wine. The bar also offers a full dinner menu, plus live entertainment to set the mood.
Perfect your cocktail skills
If you’re looking for new ways to shake and stir your cocktails, head to the Sheraton Stonebriar for its monthly “Making the Perfect Cocktail Series.” Each month you will learn expert techniques to take your cocktails to the next level. Whether you’re a novice just starting to mix your own drinks or a skilled mixologist looking for new inspiration, these classes are the perfect way to put a new twist on your drink offerings.
Brew up some fun
If beer is your drink of choice, head to Three Empires Brewery to sample some local craft beers with a local twist. For instance, you can sample the Rail District Red Ale that honors the brewery’s location in the Frisco Rail District™ that blends together red X malt, chocolate malt, Fuggles hops, and other ingredients in a beer with a toasty and sweet aroma. Or try the Rise & Grinder, which brings together coffee beans from La Finca, also in the Rail District, and craft beer to form a rich, indulgent libation unlike anything you’ve had before.
When planning your visit, check out the brewery’s events calendar so you can maximum your experience. This ranges from trivia to music bingo to live music and more that's sure to keep you entertained.
Wine +
It's no secret some of the best places to find your favorite wine is a restaurant serving fine steaks, pasta, or seafood. So if you are pairing your picks with steaks indulge at Randy's Steakhouse, EG Steak, Perry's Steakhouse, Dee Lincoln Prime, or Trick Rider. If Italian flavors are your fancy, don't miss on Eddie's Napolis, Gallo Nero, Lombardi Cucina Italiana, or Palato Kitchen and Lounge. From casual patio vibes to intimate ambiance, there's no shortage of fabulous Frisco dining to sip and savor a glass.
