The Star in Frisco, Texas, is far more than just a practice facility for the Dallas Cowboys—it's a full-fledged football destination. Spanning 91 acres, this impressive campus houses the Cowboys’ World Headquarters, the 12,000-seat Ford Center, and the upscale Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star. It’s a place where football culture is celebrated and where fans can immerse themselves in the sport’s professional atmosphere.

Ford Center: Where Practice Feels Like Game Day

Visitors to The Star during training camp in August can witness Cowboys practices at Ford Center. During practice, the team’s speed, precision, and discipline are on full display. Players work in focused position groups across the field, maximizing every minute of their session. The tempo, efficiency, and intensity of a Cowboys practice highlight the difference between playing the game and mastering it as a career.

Dining and Accommodations

The Star’s surrounding development features over 20 restaurants, offering everything from Southern comfort food to upscale Tex-Mex and gourmet burgers.

Adjacent to Ford Center is the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star, a modern, minimalist space with warm design touches and subtle nods to Cowboys history. Each room features artwork of legendary players, and the décor blends team colors with earth tones to create a refined, comfortable atmosphere.

Cowboys Fit: Training Like the Pros

Guests at the Omni can access Cowboys Fit, a 60,000-square-foot luxury gym for a modest fee. The facility includes state-of-the-art equipment, a nutrition bar, a retail shop, and even a childcare space called the Rowdy Room. The gym’s design and amenities rival those of high-end resorts, making it a destination in itself.

The energy inside Cowboys Fit is contagious. Visitors often find themselves inspired to push harder, train smarter, and embrace the mindset of elite athletes.

Touring The Star

One of the highlights of any visit is the guided tour of The Star. Led by knowledgeable and entertaining guides, the tour offers a deep dive into the Cowboys’ history and operations. Visitors learn about the unique partnership between the team, the City of Frisco, and the Frisco Independent School District, which allows local high schools to use Ford Center for football, soccer, and lacrosse games.

The tour includes access to both the high school and professional sides of the facility. Guests can explore the team’s meeting rooms, dining hall, and outdoor practice fields. The dining facility, staffed by full-time chefs, serves nutritious meals to players and staff alike, emphasizing the importance of health and performance.

Inside the headquarters building, the lobby features tributes to Cowboys legends, including Hall of Fame inductees and Ring of Honor members. Visitors can also view all five Vince Lombardi trophies and replicas of the team’s Super Bowl rings - powerful reminders of the franchise’s storied legacy.

A Glimpse Behind the Glass

Toward the end of the tour, guests walk past the Cowboys’ weight room, separated by thick glass walls. The room is packed with cutting-edge equipment and heavy-duty weights, underscoring the physical demands of professional football. Observing players in action—some of whom are surprisingly lean for their positions—offers a new perspective on the athleticism required at the highest level.

Seeing an All-Pro offensive lineman up close, towering at 6’5” and 320 pounds, leaves a lasting impression. The sheer size, strength, and focus of these athletes serve as a powerful visual of what it takes to succeed in the NFL.

More Than a Visit—A Vision

The Star isn’t just a place to watch football; it’s a place to understand it. From the intensity of practice to the thoughtful design of the facilities, every detail reflects the dedication and excellence of the Cowboys organization. For aspiring athletes and passionate fans alike, a visit to The Star can be transformative. It’s a reminder that greatness isn’t just about talent - it’s about commitment, discipline, and the relentless pursuit of improvement.
