Strikz Entertainment: Family-Owned Fun in the Heart of Frisco

Whether you're planning a family getaway, a couples’ weekend, or a group adventure with friends, Frisco, Texas is ready to welcome you with open arms and plenty of ways to play. Among our favorite local gems is Strikz Entertainment, a family-owned attraction that’s been part of Frisco’s story for more than 20 years.

Get to know one of the Faces of Frisco, Neil Farren, owner of Strikz. Read about his background and the connection to the community Neil and his family have cultivated since opening in 2005.

With bowling, laser tag, arcade games, axe throwing, and a community spirit that runs deep, Strikz is the kind of place where you can feel the family passion every time you visit.

Q: How long have you been in Frisco?

A: I opened Strikz in April of 2005 when there were just two high schools.

Q: What's your background as a local business owner in the entertainment space?

A: I have been in entertainment my whole career. After college I started at Brunswick, who owned and operated bowling centers before entertainment centers such as Dave & Busters or Main Event existed. As we opened new international markets, we built diversified entertainment centers to create brand awareness on bowling and Brunswick. From there, we opened the market to other operators.

Q: How do you describe Strikz to someone who hasn't been in yet?

A: Most people have heard of our competitors, so I mention their names but explain this is a family-owned business with strong guest service. We have entertainment for all ages from 5 to 85 with bowling, laser tag, arcade, axe throwing, and food and beverage.

Q: Strikz has been a special part of the Frisco community for so long. What do you do that builds that connection?

A: We have a strong commitment to the community from local schools to charities. We are a sponsor of the Texas Legends, Frisco Roughriders, and the Frisco Bowl. Our tagline is Family Owned and Community Driven. Frisco has been great to Strikz, and we try whenever we can to give back.

Q: Is there something for everyone, like little kids, families, teenagers, couples, friend groups, work teams?

A: I do believe we have something for everyone from traditional bowling leagues and birthday parties to large corporate gatherings.

Q: What do you think would surprise someone when they walk in and experience the fun at Strikz?

A: Today the surprise is our full 32-lane LED wall. It can be used for sports, of course, but guests can interact with it, too. They can take pictures then see themselves on the big screen! People can supply us pictures, videos, or images and they are displayed for group events. We have hosted wedding receptions, family reunions, and many other events, and this can personalize the event.

Q: How do corporate groups use your spaces?

A: We have many corporate events every week from small groups to large events. We have one company that has rented out all of Strikz for the past 15 years.

Q: What's YOUR favorite thing at Strikz?

A: After 21 years my favorite thing at Strikz is the people, as some have bowled with me 46 weeks a year for 21 years. As for my favorite memories, this might sound corny, but looking back the best part of building Strikz was all 6 of my kids worked for me while in high school and one has come back to take over.

I have been in bowling since I was a kid as my dad was a bowling mechanic and most Friday and Saturday nights, I was at the center alongside him, and now my son is working alongside me. After undergraduate school I went to work for Brunswick and enjoyed that career but was away from the family too much. I left Brunswick to open Strikz and be around the family more, and it's been great.
