Visit Frisco Collab Wins Travel Weekly Magellan Award

Travel Weekly announced the 2024 Magellan Awards Gold Winners honoring the best in travel from design to marketing. Visit Frisco is a winner in the category of Destination Marketing-Live Installation/Activation Program for their Golf Girl Games event. 

For Women’s Golf Month (June), Visit Frisco partnered with the rapidly growing social media account, Golf Girl Games. The Golf Girl Games Instagram and YouTube channels feature female pro and former college golfers who engage in playful competitions, winning fun prizes, or enduring silly punishments, all while keeping the atmosphere lighthearted and entertaining. Frisco teamed up four members of the Golf Girl Games crew with local junior golfers for two exciting competitions at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort. In addition to the golf competition captured on camera, Golf Girl Games traveled throughout the destination to experience attractions and dining in Frisco, including dining in the downtown Frisco Rail District and exploring The Star, the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys. The goals of this collaboration included reaching a female golf audience, involving the local community, and inspiring young female golfers to pursue their passion.

Collectively Golf Girl Games published 141 posts from stories and in-feed posts combined. The collaboration reached 3.5 million people, with 20.7 million impressions, and more than 212,000 engagements.

A broad range of industry segments are represented in Travel Weekly's Magellan Awards, including Hotels and Resorts, Travel Destinations, Cruise Lines, Travel Services, Airlines and Airports, Travel Advisors and Agencies, Tour Operators, and Car Rental. The judging panel is comprised of top travel industry professionals.
